Folioworks Pty Ltd is committed to adopt and implement a sustainable environmental management system and practices, consistent with the latest practices of relevant environmental sustainability guidelines / ISO-140001.
The Management shall pursue sustainable environmental practices in all facets of the Company business. This commitment shall be circulated to the entire company organisation by actively engaging all levels of staff in the company to participate in achieving stated goals and targets, and educating and training staff involved in the Company activities covered by the environmental sustainability policy.
Establish a task team to evaluate and identify Company’s new and current products from design to the manufacturing process against a set of criteria consistent with and in pursuance of the Company environmental sustainability policy.
Evaluate and refine Company design criteria to meet aspects of the environmental sustainability, e.g. Chairs are designed for stackability in order to reduce transportation requirement which has an environmental impact.
Raw material used for the products shall be identified and verified as to its source.
Increase usage of materials from renewable sources eg. Eco-Friendly wood source from plantation forest shall take precedence over non-renewable source.
Evaluate and identify emission of pollutants and greenhouse gas from the manufacturing processes involved, and adopt methods and processes that are structured to reduce and contain pollutants and eliminate gaseous emission to the environment.
Adopt strategy in Company operation to reduce the carbon footprints both on an individual and company level.
Develop an energy consumption saving plan including purchase of “green energy”, and in-house practices and installation e.g. installation of sky lights in manufacturing premises.
A Building Energy Management System (C-Bus) was installed at the current Company’s factory/warehouse.
Adopt manufacturing processes to minimise water consumption, and to inculcate into staff of practices which conserve water.
Install facilities to capture runoff and encourage greater use of grey water to reduce water consumption (50,000 litre tank has been installed).
Evaluate the design and manufactured products to meet an effectiveness/material consumption (mass) criteria.
Phase out or eliminate products which are not justifiable based on effectiveness/ materials consumption criteria.
Actively pursue the design and the manufacture of products for durability, and hence reduce the use of limited resources.
Plan and adopt methodology and processes which minimises wastage of materials in conjunction with a sound management plan to handle waste generated, e.g. sorting of scrapped steel for recycling.
All products are designed and manufactured to meet a recyclabilty of the materials or its major components used in the product.
Company pledges to accept return of its products at the end of it useful life, and to recycle the materials or components of these returns.
Design products for ease of assembly and consequently disassembly using conventional and non specialised fasteners and tools.
Review of the entire manufacturing processes and business practices will be made yearly to assess progress made against stated targets, and to address deficiency where it occurs.
